656 Twin Wire Mesh Fencing Information

656 twin wire mesh fencing is the lighter verison of twin wire mesh fencing commonly used for perimeter boundary demarcation, and for creating smaller compounds within a site.

The 656 twin wire mesh panels are made up from twin 6mm horizontal wires and single 5mm vertical wire running between them, hence the 6/5/6 name.

The wire is pre-galvanised and welded together at the cross over points. A protective powder coating finish is added to maximise the lifetime of the fence.

The posts are made from 60x60mm square hollow section pre-galvanised steel pre-fitted with U-clips and threaded inserts for attaching the fencing panels with a clamp bar and M8 fixings.

The system is supplied for use on level ground, but can also be installed on inclines and uneven ground. This typically involves stepping the panels heights at the posts, and may require a portion of the panels to be buried, usually at the corners.

656 Twin Wire Mesh Installation

Installing 656 twin wire mesh in very simple.

Firstly the posts need to be installed in the ground at appropriate positions, which for 656 twin wire fencing panels is 2.525m post centres.

656 twin wire mesh panels are 2.5m wide, however a gap is needed to allow the M8 fixing bolt to pass between the panels.

Once the posts are installed, the fencing panels can be offered up to the posts.

The ends of 2nr panels will hook inside the U-clips on the post, then the clamp bar needs to be positioned over the ends of the panels. Once in position, the M8 fixings can be inserted through the pre-punched slots in the clamp bar, and the fixings tightened into the pre-fitted inserts in the post.
