Steel Palisade Fencing Kit

The kit includes all the palisade fencing pales, rails, and posts (including fish plates and security fixings) required to make up the stated length of palisade fencing.

*Note: a palisade fencing bay is defined as 1nr palisade fencing post, 2nr palisade rails, 17nr palisade pales, and associated all fixings. A suitable palisade fencing end post will need to be added to the order to erect a stand-alone run of palisade fencing. 

Post Mix Concrete will be required to install the fence posts in the ground, which can be added to the shopping cart on the Post Mix Concrete product page.

Steel palisade fencing is a robust fencing system aimed at security focussed applications.

Steel palisade fencing aims to deter intruders by providing both a formidable physical obstacle and an intimidating visual presence.

Steel Palisade Fencing Components

The fencing system is composed from 2mm thick vertical steel pales rolled into a W profile to increase rigidity, 2nr horizontal rolled steel angle rails, and 100x55 IPE steel support posts.

All components are pre-punched and pre-slotted as required for fast and efficient assembly on site.

All steel components are given a hot dip zinc galvanised finish to prevent corrosion and maximise the lifetime of the fence.

Steel Palisade Fencing Features

Anti-climb: As well as being a robust fence, steel palisade fencing also has anit-climbing properties.

Along with the pointed tops whicn provide an intimidating appearance and hazard for potential intruders, the straight vertical pales do not provide any kind of foothold for climbing.

Raking over uneven ground: Steel palisade fencing can be installed on uneven ground.

The loose assembly of the system means it can be adapted on site to account for rising and falling ground level.

This is one of the main reasons it is commonly used alongside railway lines, as it can easily be adapted to the undulations of the ground as the rail line cuts through the landscape.

Steel Palisade Fencing Installation

Installing steel palisade fencing is simple.

Firstly the posts need to be installed in the ground at appropriate positions, which for standard palisade fencing bays is 2.75m post centres. (This applies to flat ground only. On uneven ground we recommend using the rail lengths to adjust the post centres accordingly, otherwise the rails may not reach between adjacent posts).

Once the posts are installed, the rails must be fixed between the posts using the loose fish plates provided. The plates go through the pre-slotted posts and bolt to the rails which are going either side of the post. (Don't snap off the permanence cone nuts until you are happy with the positioning of all fencing components).

Next fix the vertical pales to the horizontal rails lining up the pre-punched holes.

Finally, when everything is positioned correctly, snap off the security nuts heads to complete the fence.
